We have been working on behalf of DENS charity, highlighting the plight of the homeless, documenting the work they do for use in the media and also for their promotional material. DENS is an independant Charity which operated in rotation around seven local Churches for five years, providing a temporary shelter over the worst months of the winter. In that time, they helped over 250 individuals. DENS is supported by the local community, Council and local businesses. DENS now has 2 hostels, one providing short stay overnight accommodaion, the other providing longer term, supported-living, self contained units. This enables DENS to offer a wide range of services to homeless people, helping them to move on to independent living in their own home. To supplement funding from statutory sources, DENS also needs to raise £30K per year.
